Q: Katie: To kick things off, give us the quick headlines so our readers know exactly who you are and the magic you create!

A: I'm Rebecca Stannett, founder and designer of Rebecca Anne Designs. I design and make personalised embroidered wedding veils from my Devon studio, working one-to-one with brides to turn meaningful details into embroidery — handwriting, florals, dates, initials, symbols, places or words that hold personal meaning. Every veil is designed with intention, expertly embroidered in-house, and made to feel like more than an accessory. It becomes part of the bride's story. I also create embroidered wedding signage, including fabric welcome signs and other made-to-order pieces, for couples who want the same thoughtful, textile-led detail carried into the wider wedding setting.

Q: Katie: Where are you based, how far do you travel, and what are your favourite kinds of spaces to work with?

A: I'm based in Devon, but I work with brides across the UK and internationally through online consultations, so distance is rarely a barrier. As I'm not an on-the-day wedding supplier, my work is created in the studio and sent to the bride ahead of the wedding. In terms of spaces I love to see my veils in, I'm always drawn to elegant country houses, atmospheric castles, beautiful coastal settings and stylish city venues — spaces that feel considered and full of character, where the veil can move, catch the light and become part of the visual story of the day.

Q: Katie: How did you find your way into the wedding world, and what was the moment you realised this was your calling?

A: My background is in fashion design, and I've always loved the detail, emotion and storytelling that can live within clothing. I found my way into bridal through a love of veils and the moment they create. There is something incredibly powerful about seeing a bride put on a veil — it can completely change how she feels, and often becomes the moment when everything suddenly feels real. I realised I wanted to focus on veils because they hold such emotion, but also such creative possibility. Over time, embroidery became the perfect way for me to bring those stories into the fabric itself. Now, I see my work as translating a couple's love story into stitch.

Q: Katie: What is the core philosophy, style, and value system that defines your work today?

A: At the heart of Rebecca Anne Designs is the belief that wedding details should feel personal, intentional and beautifully made. My work is for brides who care about detail, sentiment and style in equal measure. The style of my work is modern romantic, story-led and refined — soft tulle, illustrative embroidery, delicate line work, thoughtful placement and designs full of movement. My values are care, originality and calm guidance. I believe the design process should feel supportive rather than overwhelming. A bride doesn't need to arrive knowing exactly what she wants. My role is to listen, guide and translate her ideas into something wearable.

Q: Katie: Describe your 'dream couple' — the people that make you instantly say, 'Yes, I absolutely need to work with them!'

A: My dream couples are thoughtful, sentimental and open to the design process. They care about how their wedding looks, of course, but they care even more about how it feels. My bride might want to include a flower connected to a family garden, a line of handwriting from someone they love, a hidden date, a symbol from their travels, or embroidery inspired by the setting of their wedding. They trust the process and understand that the most meaningful details are not always the most obvious ones.

Trends & Expert Secrets

Q: Katie: What is the most unique or wonderfully memorable wedding setup you've ever been a part of?

A: A veil that always stays with me is Caitlin's. Her veil incorporated artwork and handwriting by her late mum, which made the whole piece incredibly personal. It wasn't just decoration — it was a way of carrying someone she loved into the day through the embroidery itself. Those are the pieces that really remind me why I do this. A veil can be beautiful, but when it holds that kind of meaning, it becomes something far beyond an accessory.

Q: Katie: What exciting new patterns and directions are you noticing right now in your corner of the industry?

A: I'm seeing a beautiful shift towards meaningful personalisation, but in a much more refined way. Rather than adding every possible detail, brides are choosing one or two elements that hold real emotional weight. Handwriting embroidery continues to be incredibly popular, especially when it includes words from a loved one. Florals are becoming more illustrative and design-led — soft, organic and modern rather than overly traditional. I'm also seeing more interest in two-tier veils, mantilla-inspired shapes and the combination of lace with embroidery, and more couples thinking about textile details beyond what they wear.

Q: Katie: What would you love to see more UK couples embrace?

A: I would love to see more couples embrace deeply personal details without feeling that everything has to be obvious to every guest. Some of the most beautiful wedding details are the ones that only the couple, or their closest people, fully understand — a hidden motif, a private phrase, a flower with family meaning. I think the next big thing is couples becoming more confident in making choices that feel true to them, rather than creating a wedding for other people's expectations.

Q: Katie: What insider advice would you give couples planning their wedding right now?

A: Think about your veil earlier than you think you need to. A veil is often seen as the final finishing touch, but if you're choosing something bespoke or personalised, it deserves to be considered as part of the full look. Your dress, hairstyle, venue, photography style and personal details can all influence the shape, length, placement and embroidery. You don't need to have all the answers at the beginning — a good designer will guide you. But allowing enough time means you have space to explore ideas calmly and create something that feels truly considered.

The Wedding Journey & Meaning

Q: Katie: When a couple books you, what does that journey look like from start to finish?

A: The journey usually begins with an enquiry or a design call, where we talk through the bride's ideas, dress, wedding setting and any meaningful details she might want to include. From there, I guide her through the options — veil length, shape, tiers, embroidery placement, wording, florals, thread colour and overall feeling. Once the direction is agreed, I create the artwork, digitise the embroidery and test stitch the design. The veil is then cut, embroidered in my Devon studio, hand finished and carefully checked before it leaves. Clear, kind communication is a huge part of the process — I always want brides to know what happens next and how their veil is progressing.

Q: Katie: What is one old-school wedding tradition or rule you're secretly glad modern couples are ditching?

A: I'm glad couples are moving away from the idea that they have to make choices simply because they are traditional. A veil doesn't have to be plain. It doesn't have to match everyone else's idea of bridal. It doesn't have to be chosen at the very end because it feels like an afterthought. Modern couples are realising that the most beautiful details are often the ones with meaning.

Q: Katie: When the wedding magic is done and you're off-the-clock, where can we find you?

A: When I'm not in the studio, you can usually find me on a walk, planning a trip, cooking with my husband Jeremy, or looking for somewhere beautiful to explore. I spend so much of my working life focused on tiny details, so I love anything that gives me space to breathe and reset.

Capacities & Spaces

Q What are your maximum guest numbers for the ceremony and the wedding breakfast?

A For ceremonies we can host up to 220; for a wedding breakfast up to 134.

Q Do you offer both indoor and outdoor ceremony spaces?

A We have some wonderful indoor ceremony spaces- our Colonnades room has a spectacular view out over Roundhay Park. We're not able to host outdoor weddings unfortunately as we are in a public park.

Q Do you have on-site accommodation?

A No, despite being surrounded by 700 acres of parkland we are just 15 minutes from central Leeds - so there a selection of hotels just a short journey away.

Q Dog friendly?

A We allow dogs for Wedding Ceremonies and drinks receptions. However dogs and loud music are not a good mix, so we ask that dogs are taken home (or to their accommodation) before the wedding meal.

Venue Highlights

Q What is the one feature of your venue that couples always fall in love with?

A The Grand Staircase and Chandelier. The Staircase provides elegance for photos, bridal entrance, first look photos and the Chandelier, especially in Winter when the nights are darker and is illuminated in the couple colour scheme, offers a stunning contrast in colour and brings modern chic to a classic Georgian property.

The Pro Tips

Q What is your top piece of advice for couples planning their wedding?

A Prioritise what you want, not what will please the most people. This applies to food, drinks, décor, music. Your wedding is a reflection of who you are as a couple, a hybrid mix of what you both like, and not an exercise in satisfying the whims of all who are in attendance. Don't settle for chicken if you'd rather have lamb; don't opt for Abba if you're more of an AC/DC

Q What is the most 'genius' wedding planning move or cost-saver you’ve seen a couple pull off?

A I don't think it is genius but just couples providing things they can make themselves. Wedding cakes for example, can be super expensive, but a lot of cake at night does not get eaten and people only do a cake because it is "traditional" and expected. Family members providing centre pieces like flowers they've grown at home. We recently had a wedding that put pictures of the couple around the venue and next to them paintings of those pictures that the couple had done. My advice to all couples, is just make it personal to you. Traditions and expectations can get very expensive, very quickly.

Q If a couple has an entertainment budget, where in your opinion is it best spent for maximum impact?

A Live music will always be the winner for me, and garden games. Things that will keep people entertained and engaged during some of the long moments that don't involve everybody. For example, during the drinks reception and photos, people want something to keep them active. I also like entertainment for the night time, not so much saxophonists as these can be hit and miss but bands, big or small. Live music brings a different level of atmosphere for me. Live drawing/painters are fantastic too as you get something that you can keep forever!

Style & Trends

Q Best aisle entrance song?

A Song Bird - this was the music my wife walked into the room to and she went to a recording studio and sang her own entrance music. I also love "I Get to Love You" by Ruelle, our first dance music

Q Best aisle exit song?

A Signed, Sealed, Delivered is a timeless classic, but I love something more like "Come and Get Your Love"

Q Favourite colour scheme?

A I know it is traditional nowadays and done a lot but I love sage green. The tables, the dresses. I also love bolder colours for Winter weddings, like Reds and Purples.

Q Favourite wedding cake flavour?

A Salted Caramel

Q What favours do guests actually keep?

A None! Edible ones are always well received. Scratch cards confuse me, what would you do if they won a lot of money?

Traditions

Q One 'Old' tradition you still love.

A The Cake cutting- a great tradition and a fabulous photo. I love it when the couple cut and eat a piece straight away.

Q One 'New' tradition you’re currently obsessed with?

A The mid aisle drop kiss shot. I love the photo it provides, with everybody around you and not just you standing at the front. All eyes are on you, including the person who is looking at the photo.

The Ceremony

Q Everyone working on the wedding floor loves a Celebrant Led wedding, why do you love them?

A The flexibility and bespoke nature of a celebrant wedding makes it so much more personal. Sometimes a registrar led wedding feels too much like a tick box exercise and doesn't have the couple at the heart of the ceremony, whereas a celebrant led wedding does. They take the time to get to know the couple and deliver something so much more magical and memorable.

Meet

Q: Katie: To kick things off, give us the quick headlines so our readers know exactly who you are and the magic you create!

A: I’m DJ Mark Green. Professional events DJ catering for prestigious weddings, corporate and sporting event.

DJ Mark Green in action!

Q: Katie: Where are you based, how far do you love to travel, and what are your favourite kinds of spaces to work with?

A: I’m based in Harrogate but I perform all over the UK. It’s hard to put a finger on my favourite spot for a wedding… far too many beautiful places to choose from. I do spend a lot of time travelling between Middleton Lodge, Tithe Barn - Bolton Abbey & Riverlands in East Yorkshire. Lots of love for all 3 of these!

I’ve been DJing for the best part of 30 years. In the early days I spent quite a few years performing overseas in multiple places across the Mediterranean. That was definitely my training ground.

Behind the Designs

Q: Katie: Let’s start right at the beginning! How did you find your way into the wedding world, and what was that exact moment you realised this was your calling?

A: There wasn’t really a life plan back then and weddings weren’t a thing I’d ever considered. My first taste of a came to me nearly 20yrs ago via a friend. He was getting married near Newcastle and asked if I could take care of his evening music. I jumped at the opportunity and haven’t looked back since… it was loads of fun.

I then spent a few years in bars and clubs, dabbling in the odd wedding, part and corporate event.

Around 2014, the workload between my day job and DJing was too much… something had to give. I handed in my notice at work and took the plunge and became a full time DJ. I haven’t looked back since.

Q: Katie: Every business has its own distinct personality. What is the core philosophy, style, and value system that defines your work today?

A: My couples and clients are at the core of everything I do. Pulling on my skill set, experience and expertise, I work closely with clients to deliver the exact vibe they desire form their special event. Once the planning and prep is nailed… it’s time to party and I love it. I don’t ever see myself as a supplier, more an extended guest. I love bouncing around to good vibes and I always bring the energy.

Think carefully if your wedding venue has a 1am music cut off licence… you don’t need to go all the way. I see lots of parties fizzle out after midnight because the guest are absolutely shattered and physically can’t carry on. Plan your evening timings carefully and finish on a big high with all of your friends and family present.
— DJ Mark Green

Q: Katie: Let’s talk about your ‘dream couple’. Describe the people that make you instantly say, "Yes, I absolutely need to work with them!"

A: I love the variety of events I do and the different people I work with. That keeps things fresh, challenging and exciting for me.

Trends & Expert Secrets

Q: Katie: What is the most unique, unconventional, or wonderfully memorable wedding setup you’ve ever been a part of?

A: Obviously not mentioning names or location. I once did a large garden wedding that was more like an illegal rave. It was complete carnage and I spent the whole day on edge looking out for police cars coming down the driveway. I remember laughing to myself all the way home. I didn’t think I was going to get away with all my equipment in one piece - it was mental.

Q: Katie: The wedding world is always evolving. What exciting new patterns, directions, or details are you noticing right now in your brilliant corner of the industry?

A: No surprise here, but TikTok trends are certainly driving couples decisions.

Q: Katie: If you could predict the 'next big thing' or share one thing you’d love to see more UK couples embrace, what would it be?

A: People are regularly looking to recreate moments in videos they’ve seen. Aisle walk tracks, first dances, mixing styles etc…

Q: Katie: For couples currently planning their wedding, what insider secret or piece of advice would you give them from your area of expertise?

A: Think carefully if your wedding venue has a 1am music cut off licence… you don’t need to go all the way. I see lots of parties fizzle out after midnight because the guest are absolutely shattered and physically can’t carry on. Plan your evening timings carefully and finish on a big high with all of your friends and family present.

The Wedding Journey & Meaning

Q: Katie: When a couple books you, what does that journey look like from start to finish? How do you make sure they feel completely looked after?

A: My booking process is all automated and completely stress free. From first enquiry to delivery, I love to be responsive. Holding couples hands and guiding them through the whole journey. I’m contactable every day of the week. I love offering my advice and answering questions to ensure we get the desired outcome on the day.

Q: Katie: We are seeing a gorgeous shift away from 'perfect-for-Instagram' weddings toward deeply meaningful days. What is one old-school wedding tradition or rule you are secretly glad modern couples are ditching?

A: I’ve noticed a few couples recently ditching speeches and their first dance. It totally cool with me if that’s what they want, however it’s always nice to keep some traditions as the flow is tried and tested and works really well.

Q: Katie: When the wedding magic is done and you’re finally off-the-clock, where can we usually find you and how do you like to unwind?

A: I’m normally sleeping or running around after my 3 kids… lol

What couples say…

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
Katie was nothing short of perfect. From the very beginning she took the time to truly get to know us, not just our story but who we are as people, and somehow turned that into the most beautiful, heartfelt ceremony we could ever have imagined. She told our love story in a way that was magical, personal, and so us that it felt like she had known us our whole lives. Every single guest told us how special and unique it was, and many were moved to tears. Katie’s warmth, kindness and talent made the heart of our wedding day unforgettable. We will treasure those words forever. I could not recommend her more highly. She does not just create ceremonies, she creates memories you will hold in your heart for a lifetime.
— Jemma Frost (Bride)

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ The biggest THANK YOU!!

We were lucky enough to have Katie marry us two weeks ago, and from the very beginning she was absolutely amazing. She took the time to really get to know us, even coming to our home, and created a ceremony that was so personal and meaningful. She beautifully included our daughter, told our love story in such a special way, and made sure every single detail was perfect.

The ceremony was more incredible than we could have ever imagined – heartfelt, relaxed, and completely us. We honestly couldn’t have wished for anything better. Choosing a celebrant-led ceremony was the best decision we made, and we’re so grateful to Katie for giving us memories we’ll treasure forever. Thank you!

Katie was absolutely wonderful she not only wrote us a beautiful and special ceremony but she helped us make sure the day ran smoothly, supported our planning, helped keep us calm and content and made us feel so at ease. Everyone complimented our ceremony and we completely know why. It was perfect. I wouldn’t hesitate to recommend Katie to anyone looking for a personalised ceremony.

Q: Katie: Let’s start right at the beginning! How did you find your way into the wedding world, and what was that exact moment you realised this was your calling?

A: My mum and I bought Sugared Almonds Bridal in February 2007. She had always dreamed of working in the bridal industry and because we both shared a love of sewing, fashion and all things feminine, it felt like the perfect fit for us.

Q: Katie: Let’s talk about your ‘dream couple’. Describe the people that make you instantly say, "Yes, I absolutely need to work with them!"

A: We can usually tell as soon as a bride walks through the door and we get to know them that we’d love them to become one of our brides. They’re full of genuine excitement and bring such a lovely energy with them. They’re down to earth, kind and clearly really happy to be in this stage of life. We can often tell straight away from their story they’re laughing, chatting about their wedding day plans and just soaking it all in.

We love brides who don’t take things too seriously, who are open to enjoying the experience and who trust us to help guide them in finding their dream gown. The ones who value connection, good energy and a relaxed journey over pressure or simply doing what everyone else is doing. They’re not trying to tick boxes they just want a day that feels meaningful and true to them. Those are always the brides we instantly connect with and think, “Yes, we want to be part of this special journey with them,” from finding their dress right through to fittings, alterations, and everything in between and after.

Trends & Expert Secrets

Q: Katie: What is the most unique, unconventional, or wonderfully memorable wedding setup you’ve ever been a part of?

A: We’ve had so many amazing weddings over the years. One of our brides got married in an igloo in Iceland, another is flying out to Utah this week for her wedding and we’ve had weddings in Disney World, New York and even on a boat. We’ve also had a really special surprise wedding, where everyone thought they were attending her daughter’s christening, but she was actually getting married at the same time and no one knew.

Q: Katie: The wedding world is always evolving. What exciting new patterns, directions, or details are you noticing right now in your brilliant corner of the industry?

A: We especially love the more intimate weddings and elopements there’s something so personal, romantic and meaningful about them that makes them really special to be part of.

Brides are now often choosing two dresses for their wedding day one real show stopping gown for the ceremony and a second dress that’s lighter and easier to wear so they can relax and fully enjoy the party and dancing later on.

We’re also seeing a lot more brides choosing black wedding dresses, along with other coloured dresses which we absolutely love. Couples are focusing more on creating a wedding that truly reflects them, rather than sticking to tradition and we think that’s exactly how it should be.

Q: Katie: If you could predict the 'next big thing' or share one thing you’d love to see more UK couples embrace, what would it be?

A: If we could see one thing continue to grow, it would be individuality couples feeling confident doing their own thing without worrying about traditions or expectations. Whether that’s in the style of their wedding dress, their overall look, or how they choose to celebrate the day, we love seeing people make choices that truly reflect who they are rather than following what’s “expected.”

Q: Katie: For couples currently planning their wedding, what insider secret or piece of advice would you give them from your area of expertise?

A: The biggest piece of advice we always give brides is to choose a wedding dress that feels like you. It’s so easy to get caught up in opinions, trends, or what you think you should be wearing, but the most special dresses are always the ones that feel authentic and true to your personality.

Trust how you feel when you put a gown on when it’s the right dress, you’ll just know. You’ll feel comfortable, confident and like the very best version of yourself.

Enjoy the process, don’t put too much pressure on yourself and try to keep it fun. Finding your wedding dress should feel exciting and emotional in the best way and the right one will always stand out for all the right reasons.

The Wedding Journey & Meaning

Q: Katie: When a couple books you, what does that journey look like from start to finish? How do you make sure they feel completely looked after?

A: A bride will first book a bridal appointment with us, where we hope to help her find her dream dress. We always celebrate that moment with her, because it’s such a special part of the journey and from there we help her personalise her look and style it with the accessories she loves to really bring her vision to life.

We have our in-house seamstress who carries out all of the alterations, ensuring the dress is tailored perfectly and feels completely her own. It becomes a truly personal gown, made to fit her beautifully and reflect exactly how she wants to feel on her wedding day. We can also carry out alterations for bridesmaids, mothers of the bride and groomsmen to ensure the whole wedding party looks and feels their best. Throughout the whole journey, we’re always contactable for any questions, advice, or reassurance when needed.

Before collection, we carefully steam the dress, veil and sometimes bridesmaid dresses too, so everything is ready for the wedding week. After the wedding, many brides also bring their dresses back to us to be professionally cleaned and boxed as a special keepsake from their day. We absolutely love this part of the journey, especially when brides come back to share their wedding photos and tell us all about their day it’s such a lovely way to stay connected even after the wedding is over.

Q: Katie: We are seeing a gorgeous shift away from 'perfect-for-Instagram' weddings toward deeply meaningful days. What is one old-school wedding tradition or rule you are secretly glad modern couples are ditching?

A: We love that couples are now choosing to have the wedding they truly want, rather than what’s traditionally expected. Every wedding feels so different and personal and I think that’s what makes them so special.

Q: Katie: When the wedding magic is done and you’re finally off-the-clock, where can we usually find you and how do you like to unwind?

A: When I’m not working you will usually find me at home with my family. I’m very much a homebody at heart, so I love nothing more than slowing down and enjoying time with my children.

My days off are pretty simple taxiing the kids around, walking the dogs and just being at home. That’s really where I recharge, just having those quiet, normal moments after all the excitement of weddings. Even on my days off though, my mind is still very much on my brides and I’m always thinking about those who are getting married that day and hoping everything is going perfectly for them.

A: I’m Oscar Flanagan, Weddings & Events Singer and Acoustic Guitarist

Behind the Designs

Q: Katie: Let’s start right at the beginning! How did you find your way into the wedding world, and what was that exact moment you realised this was your calling?

A: I got into the wedding industry through my mum, Katie Flanagan, editor at Celebrant Led, who used to work as a the wedding manager at a busy venue. When I was 16, she invited me along to play at a wedding fair and encouraged me to get involved in the industry. I started performing at weddings shortly after that and instantly loved the atmosphere, the people, and being part of such an important day in someone’s life. Four years on, I’ve been performing at weddings consistently and have built up experience creating live music moments that feel personal, relaxed and memorable for every couple.

Q: Katie: Every business has its own distinct personality. What is the core philosophy, style, and value system that defines your work today?

A: I’m all about creating a wedding atmosphere that feels relaxed, personal and genuinely fun. Live music has such a huge impact on the energy of a day, and my goal is always to make moments feel natural rather than staged. Whether it’s an emotional aisle song, laid-back drinks music or a packed dancefloor singalong, I want guests to feel completely present in the moment.

My style is modern, acoustic-led pop, mixing timeless classics with current songs people actually love singing along to. Couples often describe me as easy-going, professional and adaptable, and I think that comes from understanding that every wedding is different. No copy-and-paste playlists, no awkward wedding singer clichés, just great live music tailored to the people in front of me. Above everything, I value reliability, good communication and making the whole experience stress-free for couples from the first enquiry to the first dance.

I’ve played at registrar led and celebrant led ceremonies and the rigid, registrar-led ceremony that can feel more like a pressured exam than a celebration. More and more couples are moving toward celebrant-led weddings, and it makes such a difference. Suddenly the whole ceremony is built around them, their story, their personalities. The room relaxes, the emotion is real, and honestly the music hits completely differently when everyone in the room feels like they’re part of something personal rather than just watching a formal procedure.
— Oscar Flanagan, Wedding Musician

Q: Katie: Let’s talk about your ‘dream couple’. Describe the people that make you instantly say, "Yes, I absolutely need to work with them!"

A: My dream couples are the ones who want both sides of live wedding music, the intimate moments and the big atmosphere. I love working with couples who want that emotional, personal feeling of walking down the aisle to their song performed live and acoustically, creating a moment that feels completely unique to them.

But I also love couples who want the energy to lift straight after the ceremony, turning the drinks reception into a fun, upbeat atmosphere where guests are singing along, dancing, and properly enjoying themselves from the very start of the day. For me, the best weddings balance emotion and energy perfectly, and I love being part of both.

Trends & Expert Secrets

Q: Katie: What is the most unique, unconventional, or wonderfully memorable wedding setup you’ve ever been a part of?

A: One moment that really stands out happened at the Coniston Hotel. I was playing Hallelujah as the bride walked down the aisle, and the emotion in the room was something else, the whole room was in tears before she’d even made it in. She actually had to wait outside for a moment to compose herself, so I did something you simply can’t do with a playlist: I extended the song, looping back through the verse and chorus to give her the time she needed. When she finally walked in it was perfect timing. That’s the thing about live music, it breathes and responds to the moment in a way nothing pre-recorded ever could.

Q: Katie: The wedding world is always evolving. What exciting new patterns, directions, or details are you noticing right now in your brilliant corner of the industry?

A: Couples are increasingly asking for really personal, specific song choices rather than the classic wedding staples, tracks that mean something to them as a couple, sometimes quite unexpected genres, and they want them stripped back and done in a way that feels intimate rather than performative.

Q: Katie: If you could predict the 'next big thing' or share one thing you’d love to see more UK couples embrace, what would it be?

A: Longer acoustic sets during the cocktail hour, that window between the wedding breakfast and the evening do. It’s such an underused part of the day and a live acoustic guitarist filling that space creates something really special, relaxed, warm, and memorable in a way a playlist simply can’t replicate.

Q: Katie: For couples currently planning their wedding, what insider secret or piece of advice would you give them from your area of expertise?

A: Don’t underestimate the power of the music during your ceremony. Most couples spend months deciding on flowers and table settings, but leave the music as an afterthought. Those few songs: your aisle entrance, the signing, your aisle exit, are the moments everyone will remember feeling something. Talk to your musician early, be specific about what those songs mean to you, and don’t just default to the obvious choices if they’re not really you.

The Wedding Journey & Meaning

Q: Katie: When a couple books you, what does that journey look like from start to finish? How do you make sure they feel completely looked after?

A: Once a couple enquires I like to keep things really simple and personal. We have a conversation, whether that’s over email or a call, where I get to understand what their day looks and feels like and what music matters to them. From there I send across all the details they need clearly, with no stress. As the wedding gets closer we check back in, confirm the setlist for the ceremony, and I make sure every song they want is ready exactly as they’d hope. On the day, I arrive early, set up quietly, and handle everything myself so they don’t have to think about it at all.

Q: Katie: We are seeing a gorgeous shift away from 'perfect-for-Instagram' weddings toward deeply meaningful days. What is one old-school wedding tradition or rule you are secretly glad modern couples are ditching?

A: I’ve played at registrar led and celebrant led ceremonies and the rigid, registrar-led ceremony that can feel more like a pressured exam than a celebration.

Q: Katie: When the wedding magic is done and you’re finally off-the-clock, where can we usually find you and how do you like to unwind?

A: Honestly, you’ll probably find me at another gig. When I’m not playing weddings, I’m out doing live performances across Yorkshire, Lancashire, Manchester and the North West, it’s just what I love doing. Music is never really work to me, so unwinding and doing what I enjoy is a dream.

Supplier Spotlight: Nessworthy Pictures

Time to grab a cuppa, get comfy, and settle in for our latest Supplier Spotlight. This is our go-to space where we interview the nation's favourite wedding suppliers to get you all the best tips, inspo and insider secrets for your big day.

In the hot seat today is the fabulous Bill Nessworthy, founder of Nessworthy Pictures.

Katie, Editor

Meet Bill Nessworthy

Q: Katie: To kick things off, give us the quick headlines so our readers know exactly who you are and the magic you create!

A: I'm Bill Nessworthy, I run Nessworthy Pictures, offering photography and video with a relaxed, candid vibe

Q: Katie: Where are you based, how far do you love to travel, and what are your favourite kinds of spaces to work with?

A: I'm based on the Fylde coast but travel all over the Northwest, from Liverpool to the Lakes.

Behind the Designs

Q: Katie: Let’s start right at the beginning! How did you find your way into the wedding world, and what was that exact moment you realised this was your calling?

A: Around 2015 my friend Robin May asked if I would like to second for him at a wedding. He showed me the ropes and after working with him on a few dates I was hooked. I found that I loved shooting candid moments, finding creative angles, and making art out of a day where people are there to just enjoy themselves. It's also such an honour to be the one to capture some of the happy couple's biggest memories.

Q: Katie: Every business has its own distinct personality. What is the core philosophy, style, and value system that defines your work today?

A: My core philosophy is to strike a balance between curated, posed editorial images and genuine documentary moments. Some parts of the day suit a purely documentary approach, whereas others come out better in the images with a little guidance. Couples expect a little bit of guidance, they just don't want you to be bossing them around all day. I want my couples to feel relaxed and know that I'm getting the images my portfolio promises.

I love that many couples are now customising their ceremonies, adding fun to the formality, and making it their own. Some of my favourite weddings have been celebrant led.
— Bill Nessworthy, Photography

Q: Katie: Let’s talk about your ‘dream couple’. Describe the people that make you instantly say, "Yes, I absolutely need to work with them!"

A: My dream couples are the ones who don't worry about the photography too much, and trust me to deliver a gallery of stunning images that tells the story of their day. Also, I'm actually in a rock band for fun, so I love it when couples are fans of similar bands too.

Trends & Expert Secrets

Q: Katie: What is the most unique, unconventional, or wonderfully memorable wedding setup you’ve ever been a part of?

A: It's the small things for me. The couple who got married at a brewery and had a Penguin Books theme at the wedding breakfast. Or the couple who had their favourite Talking Heads song for the first dance, rather than Ed Sheeran (no offence). The brides with black dresses, floral dresses, rainbow dresses. I've seen some wonderful things in ten years of weddings.

Q: Katie: The wedding world is always evolving. What exciting new patterns, directions, or details are you noticing right now in your brilliant corner of the industry?

A: It's the couples who bend tradition a little and do their own thing, letting their personalities shine through, yet the event still feels like a beautiful wedding.

Q: Katie: If you could predict the 'next big thing' or share one thing you’d love to see more UK couples embrace, what would it be?

A: Authenticity. With AI, people are growing weary of generated images already. But also, I'm hoping more couples go for printed albums and pictures to hang on the wall now, letting their photos live in the real world and not just on Instagram.

Q: Katie: For couples currently planning their wedding, what insider secret or piece of advice would you give them from your area of expertise?

A: I'd say trust your photographer. You don't need to send them a mood board. You are better off picking a photographer whose portfolio contains what you would pick for a mood board.

The Wedding Journey & Meaning

Q: Katie: When a couple books you, what does that journey look like from start to finish? How do you make sure they feel completely looked after?

A: I like to chat to couples over the phone as soon as possible, not to sell to them, but to show the genuine person behind the brand and get to know them a little and ask about their wedding plans, and what they are looking for in a photographer.

Q: Katie: We are seeing a gorgeous shift away from 'perfect-for-Instagram' weddings toward deeply meaningful days. What is one old-school wedding tradition or rule you are secretly glad modern couples are ditching?

A: I love that many couples are now customising their ceremonies, adding fun to the formality, and making it their own. Some of my favourite weddings have been celebrant led.

Q: Katie: When the wedding magic is done and you’re finally off-the-clock, where can we usually find you and how do you like to unwind?

A: I like to unwind with music, listening to records, or writing and playing with my band, aptly called Regular Breaks. We put out our debut single a few weeks ago, called 'Nostos' on Spotify, Amazon, etc.

The Pro Tips

Q What is your top piece of advice for couples planning their wedding?

A Make your day feel like yours, don't follow a trend if it's not a reflection of you. Concentrate on bringing your nearest & dearest together to celebrate your special day. No one will remember if the timings run exact or if you had the latest trend but they will remember how it felt.

Q What is the most 'genius' wedding planning move or cost-saver you’ve seen a couple pull off?

A The best cost saver is keeping it smaller, some of the best days here have been planned at the last minute and are beautiful, simple, intimate gatherings where everything happens in one place: ceremony, food, drinks, dancing. No transport, no long gaps, no extras for the sake of it. Just good food, the right people and the best atmosphere.

Q If a couple has an entertainment budget, where in your opinion is it best spent for maximum impact?

A I would say a DJ/ live music we love DJ Wiggy or Sarah Widdup, they can really set the tone, especially if you love a bit of a dance or if you would like more on the entertaining side we would highly recommend a magician, We love Magic by Mark Waddington, this really does bring people together and gets them talking.

Spilling the Dales' Best-Kept Secret: Why the Brand-New Samuel Suite is the Ultimate Yorkshire Mini-Moon

The beautiful Samuel Suite, private hot tub and patio -photography by Becki Dakin

Are you currently drowning in a sea of wedding seating plans, table seating plans, and endlessly chasing the RSVP’s? Or perhaps the confetti has finally settled, the big day is over, and you’ve suddenly been hit by that notoriously heavy wave of post-wedding blues?

Dr Celebrant Led here… and we have just the medicine for you!

There is a distinct, beautiful moment on the scenic drive into Malhamdale where the heavy static of modern life completely melts away. It usually happens just as you turn off the A65, right about halfway between the vibrant Yorkshire Dales market towns of Skipton and Settle. The drystone walls tighten, the rolling green fells rise up to meet the sky, and the only sound is yours as you exhale!

For couples navigating the intense whirlwind of marriage, finding an unspoiled, intentional space to truly breathe is everything. Whether you are looking for an essential pre-wedding chill session, an incredibly romantic Yorkshire Dales mini-moon, or a luxury 'thank you' gift for parents who have been your absolute rock, we have found your ultimate sanctuary.

Welcome to Green Grove Country House in the idyllic hamlet of Bell Busk. Perfectly nestled in Malhamdale, it sits right on the doorstep of the iconic Malham Cove, offering a quiet, boutique stay that feels a million miles away from the rest of the world.

We’re talking C4 'Four in a Bed' Overpayment standard!

If you've ever watched Channel 4's Four in a Bed, you know exactly the kind of place we mean. Green Grove is that rare, flawless establishment where even the most hyper-critical, dust-hunting boutique hotel owners would be left utterly speechless. It is the kind of place that would generate a massive, legendary overpayment on the show, hands down.

Boasting a staggering 9.8 out of 10 on Booking.com and a 4.9 out of 5-star Google rating, this hidden gem defines what it means to be immaculately clean. The entire property is pristine, sparkling, and deeply loved. But what truly sets it apart is that Zoe and Keith have genuinely thought of everything. They anticipate the tiny, thoughtful details before you even realise you need them, from beautifully curated welcome trays with fresh treats adjusted to your exact dietary needs, to fresh milk waiting in your fridge.

As one thrilled guest shared on their review:

This is the best B&B we have ever stayed in. They thought of everything—even a torch is provided for dark walks! The accommodation is immaculate, with clean, crisp cotton sheets, fluffy towels, and such attention to detail.

Supplier Spotlight: With Hayley from Ink & Barn

Hey lovely! Grab a cuppa, get comfy, and settle in for our latest Supplier Spotlight. This is our go-to space where we interview the nation's favourite wedding suppliers to get you all the best styling tips, hacks, and insider advice for your big day.

In the hot seat today is the wonderful Hayley Mason from Ink & Barn. I’ve actually seen Hayley's beautiful work first-hand and immediately knew I wanted to get her in for a Q&A to talk all about her bespoke wedding stationery studio

Katie, Editor

Meet Ink & Barn

Q: Katie: To kick things off, give us the quick headlines so our readers know exactly who you are and the magic you create!

A: Hayley: I’m Hayley Mason, the face behind Ink & Barn. I create bespoke wedding stationery that brings your unique wedding vision to life!

Hayley Mason the gorgeous lady behind Ink & Barn wedding stationery

Q: Katie: Where are you based, how far do you love to travel, and what are your favourite kinds of spaces to work with?

A: Hayley: I’m based in West Yorkshire, where I run my wedding stationery studio from my home. From here, I work with couples all across the UK, from local celebrations right through to destination weddings!

My approach is very relaxed and down-to-earth, I like things to feel easy, personal, and enjoyable from start to finish. I’ve always believed that wedding stationery should feel exciting, not overwhelming, so I aim to make the whole process as smooth and stress-free as possible.

I’ve been lucky enough to work with a wide variety of beautiful venues, and I honestly find it hard to pick favourites. I love how each space has its own personality — whether that’s a laid-back countryside setting, a modern industrial space, or something completely unique — they all bring something different to the design process, which I really enjoy.

Behind the Designs

Q: Katie: Let’s start right at the beginning! How did you find your way into the wedding world, and what was that exact moment you realised this was your calling?

A: Hayley: I started my business in 2023 after designing and styling all of my own wedding stationery for my big day. What began as a personal project quickly turned into something much bigger — I completely fell in love with the process and realised I’d found something I genuinely wanted to do long-term.

After receiving such positive feedback from friends, family, and others who saw my work, I decided to take the leap and turn it into a business. It felt like a natural next step, and I’ve never looked back.

Since then, I’ve been building Ink & Barn alongside my love for creating thoughtful, beautifully designed stationery. I truly enjoy every part of it — from those first rough ideas through to the finished pieces couples receive for their wedding day.

Q: Katie: Every business has its own distinct personality. What is the core philosophy, style, and value system that defines your work today?

A: Hayley: The core philosophy behind my work is to make the entire process feel calm, easy, and completely stress-free for my couples. I know how overwhelming wedding planning can be, so my aim is always to keep things simple, supportive, and enjoyable from start to finish.

I really focus on listening — understanding exactly what each couple wants and bringing that vision to life in a way that feels true to them. I’m always happy to offer guidance and suggestions where needed, but I never take over the creative direction. It’s important to me that every design feels personal and reflective of each couple’s style.

Good communication, a relaxed approach, and a high standard of customer service are at the heart of what I do. I also place a strong emphasis on quality, using carefully selected materials to ensure every piece feels as special as the occasion itself. Above all, I want my couples to feel looked after, understood, and confident that their stationery is in safe hands.

If I could predict the next big thing, I’d say it’s weddings that fully embrace personality over perfection.
— Hayley Mason, Ink & Barn

Q: Katie: Let’s talk about your ‘dream couple’. Describe the people that make you instantly say, "Yes, I absolutely need to work with them!"

A: Hayley: My dream couples are those who really want their personality to shine through in their stationery and overall wedding styling. I absolutely love working with couples who aren’t afraid to make things personal — whether that’s including their pets in their signage, building a strong and intentional colour palette, or weaving in unique interests and details that make their day feel completely their own. I’ve even worked on more creative, themed ideas too, like a gaming-inspired wedding, which was such a fun project to bring to life!

That said, I genuinely love working with all kinds of couples. I’m very versatile in my approach and enjoy adapting my style to suit each individual brief. Whether someone comes to me with a very clear vision or needs a bit more guidance, I’m always happy to help bring their ideas together in a way that feels cohesive, personal, and true to them.

Trends & Expert Secrets

Q: Katie: What is the most unique, unconventional, or wonderfully memorable wedding setup you’ve ever been a part of?

A: Hayley: One of the most memorable weddings I’ve worked on was a beautifully bold, festival-style celebration that was completely centred around bright colours and personality. It was such a fun brief — there wasn’t a colour I couldn’t use, and the whole day was a real celebration of creativity and individuality.

The couple wanted something vibrant, relaxed, and full of life, and that energy ran through everything. It was packed with their friends, their dogs, and just a really laid-back, joyful atmosphere that was very much “run on vibes” in the best possible way. It’s weddings like that which I absolutely love being part of — where there are no strict rules, just personality, colour, and fun woven into every detail.

Q: Katie: The wedding world is always evolving. What exciting new patterns, directions, or details are you noticing right now in your brilliant corner of the industry?

A: Hayley: The wedding world is definitely leaning much more into personality-led, highly customised celebrations, which I absolutely love seeing. Couples are moving away from overly traditional or “one style fits all” designs and instead really focusing on making their day feel completely reflective of them.

I’m seeing a big rise in bold, intentional colour palettes, along with couples wanting to incorporate really personal details into their stationery — whether that’s pets, shared interests, or meaningful references that tell their story.

There’s also much more emphasis on the full guest experience now. Stationery is no longer just about invitations; it’s becoming part of the overall atmosphere of the day, from welcome signs and on-the-day details through to cohesive design elements that carry through the entire wedding. Overall, couples want weddings that feel fun, relaxed, and full of personality.

Q: Katie: If you could predict the 'next big thing' or share one thing you’d love to see more UK couples embrace, what would it be?

A: Hayley: I’d love to see more couples ditching the pressure of “what a wedding should look like” and instead going all-in on colour, creativity, and personal storytelling. The weddings that stand out most are always the ones that feel fun, relaxed, and completely individual — and I think that’s exactly where things are heading.

Q: Katie: For couples currently planning their wedding, what insider secret or piece of advice would you give them from your area of expertise?

A: Hayley: An insider tip I always share is to think of your stationery as part of the full guest experience, not just an information tool. It’s often the first glimpse guests get of your wedding, so it sets the tone for everything that follows. When you treat it as part of your overall styling rather than an afterthought, it completely elevates the feel of the day.

The Wedding Journey & Meaning

Q: Katie: When a couple books you, what does that journey look like from start to finish? How do you make sure they feel completely looked after?

A: Hayley: When a couple gets in touch, it usually starts with an enquiry form, message, or email where they share a little about their wedding day. From there, we’ll have a relaxed chat about their ideas, style, and overall vision — including colour palettes, design direction, cardstock options, and any materials or finishes they’re drawn to. This is really the stage where I get to understand their personality as a couple and how we can bring that into their stationery.

Once we’ve agreed on the direction, they can hand over the creative side to me. I take care of the design process and create proofs for them to review, making sure everything feels exactly right before anything goes to print. Any feedback or adjustments are always welcome at this stage, and I work closely with them to refine everything until they’re completely happy.

Once approved, I move everything into production and print their stationery with care and attention to detail. For local couples, I also offer a hand delivery service, which adds a lovely personal finishing touch! Throughout the whole process, my focus is on keeping things easy, clear, and stress-free, so couples feel fully supported and confident from start to finish.

Q: Katie: We are seeing a gorgeous shift away from 'perfect-for-Instagram' weddings toward deeply meaningful days. What is one old-school wedding tradition or rule you are secretly glad modern couples are ditching?

A: Hayley: One tradition I really love seeing more couples embrace is opening up the speeches beyond the traditional format. I’m a big fan of hearing from the bride, and I also love when the mother of the bride or groom gets the chance to speak, as well as bridesmaids or maids of honour.

It brings such a personal, emotional, and often really fun energy to the day. These moments tend to feel more relaxed and genuine, and they give space for different voices and relationships to be celebrated — not just the traditional lineup. It’s a lovely shift towards making the day feel more inclusive and reflective of the people who matter most.

Q: Katie: When the wedding magic is done and you’re finally off-the-clock, where can we usually find you and how do you like to unwind?

A: Hayley: When I’m not working on weddings, you’ll usually find me spending time with my daughter and my dog — they definitely keep life busy in the best way!

I love simple, everyday moments like finding a good coffee spot, getting outside for walks, or fitting in some exercise. I also really value time with family and friends, whether that’s exploring somewhere new, having a relaxed day out, or just enjoying a bit of downtime together. For me, it’s all about balance — enjoying the little things and making time for fun in between the busy parts of life.

In the hot seat today is the wonderful Rachael Lucy from Loved By Lucy Designs, talking all about her luxury wedding signage business.

Katie, Editor

Rachael Lucy - owner and artist behind ‘Loved By Lucy Designs, a national wedding business specialising in personal hand-painted mirrors and bespoke signage.

Katie: To kick things off, give us the quick headlines so our readers know exactly who you are and the magic you create!

Rachael: I’m Rachael Lucy, the owner and artist behind Loved By Lucy Designs, a luxury wedding signage business specialising in hand-painted mirrors, bespoke signage, and statement wedding details.

Every piece is individually painted by hand and designed to feel personal, romantic, and completely unique to each couple’s day. From floral welcome mirrors to seating plans and keepsake pieces, I create designs that feel just as special after the wedding as they did on the day itself.

Katie: Where are you based, how far do you love to travel, and how do couples get their hands on your gorgeous work?

Rachael: I’m based in Whitley Bay—the North East of England, aka Geordie land! I do all my signs and design from my art studio at home. Because of the nature of my work, I either ship out my couples' signage, or I get lots of brides travelling from all over the country to pick up their mirrors. They often make a whole weekend of it while they’re here!

Katie: Let’s start right at the beginning! How did you find your way into the wedding world, and what was that exact moment you realised this was your calling?

Rachael: I actually started everything whilst on maternity leave with my first child in 2018. I was experiencing postnatal depression, and I found that a powerful way to help myself was by expressing creativity. I was getting married myself that year, so I decided to buy some calligraphy books and give it all a go! And the rest is history.

I do have a degree in Product Design from Leeds Uni, but honestly, it may as well have just been a degree in socialising! I’ve always been “arty,” it just took me a little while into adulthood to find my true path.

Katie: Every business has its own distinct personality. What is the core philosophy, style, and value system that defines your work today?

Rachael: I just love to give a great, relaxed experience to my brides. We chat informally on Insta DMs, I let them know a clear timeline of when I’ll need their info, and then I update them every single step of the way with photos. Their reactions are the exact reason why I do this!

My standards are super high when it comes to my brides loving a piece I’ve created. It is absolutely no effort for me to tweak, add, or slightly change something to make the creation perfect for them. I’ve had brides say the final pieces were better than they could’ve ever imagined, that nothing was too much trouble, and that they genuinely enjoyed the design process.

The idea of reusing wedding signage after the wedding has been a massive shift—hanging a stunning hand-painted mirror in your home after the big day is such a vibe!

Katie: Let’s talk about your ‘dream couple’. Describe the people that make you instantly say, "Yes, I absolutely need to work with them!"

Rachael: My dream couples are the ones who are incredibly passionate about the work I do and are totally open to trusting my artistic vision. That trust in the process only comes with years of experience and proof that you produce something they know they’re going to love.

I also adore brides who have a wild vision and want me to bring something unexpected to life! When I get to do this, it results in some of my absolute business highlights—like painting couples' cats onto their wedding mirrors!

Katie: The wedding world is always evolving. What exciting new patterns, directions, or details are you noticing right now in your brilliant corner of the industry?

Rachael: Hand-painted florals have been massive over the last year, specifically customised to match the couple’s actual wedding flowers. Mirror signage, hand-painted champagne flutes, and painted perfume bottles are also huge.

But the biggest game-changer? The floral cat mirrors! I paint couples' pet cats popping up at the bottom of their welcome mirror so they feel their beloved pet is part of their big day.

Generally, the idea of reusing wedding signage after the wedding has been a massive shift. Hanging your custom wedding mirror in your home afterwards is a major vibe.

Katie: If you could predict the 'next big thing' or share one thing you’d love to see more UK couples embrace, what would it be?

Rachael: Just less tradition and more fun! I want to see more personality. Couples shouldn't be scared of making the day completely, unapologetically their own. Think outside the box and just go for it!

Katie: For couples currently planning their wedding, what insider secret or piece of advice would you give them from your area of expertise?

Rachael: Don’t underestimate the impact of personalised details. Your signage is often one of the very first things guests see when they arrive at your venue, and it instantly sets the aesthetic and tone for the entire day.

Katie: When a couple books you, what does that journey look like from start to finish? How do you make sure they feel completely looked after?

Rachael: My process is designed to feel really relaxed and collaborative from the very beginning. Once booked in, couples secure their date. Then, closer to the wedding, we go through all of the finer details together—florals, colour palettes, inspiration images, and the overall vibe they want to create.

I guide them through design choices while still making sure the finished piece feels deeply personal to them. Throughout the process, I’m always available for questions and updates because I know wedding planning can feel overwhelming at times. The goal is always for couples to feel excited, inspired, and confident that their signage is being created with genuine care and attention.

Katie: We are seeing a gorgeous shift away from 'perfect-for-Instagram' weddings toward deeply meaningful days. What is one old-school wedding tradition or rule you are secretly glad modern couples are ditching?

Rachael: I love when the bride gives the bridesmaids free rein on their dresses! Just giving them a colour palette and letting them pick a style they feel comfortable and beautiful in is wonderful.

Katie: When the wedding magic is done and you’re finally off-the-clock, where can we usually find you and how do you like to unwind?

Rachael: Usually with a coffee in hand (a skinny caramel latte!) and paint somewhere nearby! My work and creativity naturally overlap, so I’m always finding inspiration in interiors, florals, Pinterest, and little everyday details.

Outside of work, I love slower moments: walks along the coast in Whitley Bay, constantly looking out for the dolphins (I’ve seen them 3 times so far!), cosy evenings with a glass of blush rosé, and spending time with my family and friends.

A We can sleep up to 32 guests throughout 11 rooms, not including our 2 wedding suites.

Q Dog friendly?

A Yes we are.

Venue Highlights

Q What is the one feature of your venue that couples always fall in love with?

A Without a doubt, it’s the stunning views from the indoor ceremony space.

The Pro Tips

Q What is your top piece of advice for couples planning their wedding?

A It’ll be stressful planning a wedding. The worst thing you can say to your partner is 'I don’t care'. I hear it far too often with my couples, and the reaction almost always creates tension. Most people don’t actually mean they don’t care — they just don’t care about every single detail. If your partner says this, ask them for 3 things they do care about, and let those be the areas they make the main decisions on instead of forcing them to choose a centrepiece they probably wouldn’t notice was there or not. A wedding is supposed to bring you together. Don’t let different interests pull you apart.

Q What is the most 'genius' wedding planning move or cost-saver you’ve seen a couple pull off?

A A brides dress from vinted for £20 that looked £2000! Always worth looking to see if your dream dress is in need of a second life!

Q If a couple has an entertainment budget, where in your opinion is it best spent for maximum impact?

A For me it would be live music. Whether that's a band, singer or a saxophonist, they can really get the party going and who doesn't love live music?!

Style & Trends

Q Best aisle entrance song?

A RuthAnne - The Vow

Q Best aisle exit song?

A Natalie Cole - This will be an everlasting love

Q Favourite colour scheme?

A Anything pastel- blues, butter yellow and pinks especially

Q Favourite wedding cake flavour?

A For me? Always, always, always a cake of cheese!

Q What favours do guests actually keep?

A Winning scratch cards or hand drawn portraits

Traditions

Q One 'Old' tradition you still love.

A Something old, something new, something borrowed, something blue.

Q One 'New' tradition you’re currently obsessed with?

A Having a 'last dance' just the two of you.

The Ceremony

Q Everyone working on the wedding floor loves a Celebrant Led wedding, why do you love them?

A For me, it feels more personal and more about the love between the two. Relaxed, not worrying about saying the wrong thing, but saying how you really feel. Not only that but your guests can drink throughout the ceremony too!

Q What is the one feature of your venue that couples always fall in love with?

A Without a doubt, it’s the grounds and the beautiful manor house backdrop. Every corner of the venue offers incredible photo opportunities, from sweeping gardens to timeless architecture, creating memories couples can treasure forever.

The Pro Tips

Q What is your top piece of advice for couples planning their wedding?

A Don’t stress over the small details. Your guests will happily arrange their own accommodation and transport - focus on the bigger picture and enjoy the planning process. Your wedding day goes by so quickly, so it’s important to soak up every moment.

Q What is the most 'genius' wedding planning move or cost-saver you’ve seen a couple pull off?

A Repurposing aisle décor as centrepieces for the wedding breakfast is such a smart idea. It ensures your florals and styling work twice as hard throughout the day while also helping couples make the most of their budget.

Q If a couple has an entertainment budget, where in your opinion is it best spent for maximum impact?

A We absolutely love singing waiters. They’re such a fun surprise during the wedding breakfast and instantly bring energy into the room, setting the tone perfectly for the evening celebrations ahead.

Style & Trends

Q Best aisle entrance song?

A At Last by Etta James - timeless, romantic and guaranteed to create an unforgettable aisle moment.

Q Best aisle exit song?

A It has to be Signed, Sealed, Delivered I'm Yours - such a feel-good classic that gets everyone smiling the moment the ceremony ends.

Q Favourite colour scheme?

A We’re loving bright pinks and oranges at the moment. The combination adds a bold pop of colour while still feeling elegant, modern and effortlessly stylish.

Q Favourite wedding cake flavour?

A The tiramisu “cake” trend is definitely one of our favourites right now. Whether presented traditionally or as a dramatic tiramisu tower, it feels contemporary, interactive and always creates a real wow moment for guests.

Q What favours do guests actually keep?

A Personalised portraits are such a special touch. Having a live artist at your wedding gives guests a meaningful keepsake they’ll genuinely want to display at home - rather than something that ends up forgotten in a drawer.

Traditions

Q One 'Old' tradition you still love.

A Not seeing each other on the morning of the ceremony. It really builds the anticipation and makes that aisle moment even more emotional.

Q One 'New' tradition you’re currently obsessed with?

A Bridesmaids wearing different colours or tones. It feels modern, stylish and allows everyone’s personality to shine through while still looking beautifully cohesive.

The Ceremony

Q Everyone working on the wedding floor loves a Celebrant Led wedding, why do you love them?

A We love how personal celebrant-led weddings can be. They give couples complete flexibility to make the ceremony truly their own, whether that’s incorporating hand-tying rituals, beer boys or other fun, meaningful touches. No two ceremonies ever feel the same, and that’s what makes them so special.

Wedding Cake Q&A with Karen Wildman from Bella’s Cakes - Cost, Size and the Poisonous Flowers to Avoid!)

A gorgeous 3 tier cake by expert cake maker Karen Wildman at Bella’s Cakes

I’ve known Karen from Bella’s Cakes for a long time, we bonded over a challenging situation and a stolen cake stand!
Karen is wedding cake royalty in Yorkshire, so I sat her down and asked all of the questions modern couples want to know about their Wedding Cakes - including cost, tiers, portions and what’s on trend.
— Katie, Editor

The "Long" Cake Movement & Current Trends

Q: Google searches are spiking for birthday-style wedding cakes for the "candles and a kiss" moment, what’s your opinion of them?

A: There is always a special quirky trend every so often and these are the "in" thing! I do like them and I think they are quite striking if done well, though I do prefer an elegant tiered cake myself!

Lambeth Cake by Bella’s Cakes, still on trend for 2026 and 2027 weddings

Q: Are Lambeth cakes in or out for 2027 and 2028?

A: Definitely in for 2026 and 2027. Couples are loving the "extra-ness" of them; that over-styled piping is very striking. I love a vintage cake and have many on the books this year!

Q: What cake trends are you forecasting for 2027 and 2028 weddings?

A: I think we will see more textured, structural, and sculpted cakes with a focus on botanical elements. I also really want to see more multiple, smaller table cakes, they’re such fun for your guests!

Timeless Elegance & Logistics

Q: The Forever Classic: What’s the classic cake that will still look sophisticated in 2036?

A: An elegantly tall, all-white cake with beautifully crafted all-white sugar flowers. Oh, and a giant silk bow!

Q: Cost Realities: What should a couple expect to pay for a wedding cake in the current market?

A: Wedding cake costs vary greatly. As a guide, a small tiered cake to feed 70 would be around £500, while a large 4-tier to serve 130+ would be in the region of £850-900.

A: If a couple wants a high-impact look using "dummy tiers" to cut costs, would guests ever know?

A: Guests have no idea they’re fake if they are well-decorated along with the rest of the cake. I do use dummy tiers for height, but only one per cake—I am a baker after all! Just be sure to tell the couple to cut the real cake tier, not the dummy!

Q: The Ordering Timeline: How long in advance should a couple book?

A: Most of my couples book 12+ months in advance, but I’ve noticed more mid-week weddings lately which can often be accommodated at shorter notice.

A stunning 3 tier wedding cake by Bella’s Bakes

The Weird and Wonderful

Q: Out of all the cakes you’ve made, which has been the most unusual?

A: The one that brought us together, Katie! A bright fuchsia pink 3-tier cake with the most unusual textures, rice paper sails, and flowers. She was a stunner!

Q: The Weirdest Request: What is the strangest thing a couple has ever asked for?

A: There have been a few... but a West Ham gold hammers emblem and black skulls has to be up there!

Flavours & The "Perfect" Buttercream

Q: What are the most popular flavours right now?

A: Couples are still going for fruity, lighter flavours. My Sicilian lemon meringue is in nearly all of my wedding cakes , and raspberry and white chocolate is to die for!

Q: Is anyone actually still ordering old-school fruitcake and royal icing?

A: Nope... I haven’t made a fruit cake in a long time!

Q: You have the most perfect buttercream, can you tell us your secret?

A: A really good buttercream takes time, you have to whip everything to within an inch of its life! Swiss meringue is my go-to for wedding cakes; it's light, fluffy, and offers a bit of decadence and luxury.

Three tier classic white wedding cake adorned with pearls, crafted by Karen of Bella’s Cakes

Seasonal Practicalities & Safety

Q: Icing vs. The Elements: Which icing types are best suited for the seasons?

A: I always recommend fondant-covered cakes for warmer summer months. They have a layer of white chocolate ganache underneath which sets hard and keeps the cake stable. However, there is always a solution; I have a 3-tier full chocolate ganache cake in a marquee this summer, but we have catering fridges on standby!

Q: Toxic Flowers: Which flowers are "forbidden" when dressing a cake?

A: Your cake designer should know which flowers to avoid, such as gypsophila, lilies, hydrangeas, foxgloves, delphiniums, or fresh eucalyptus. No one wants poorly tummies on a wedding day!

After the Big Day

Q: Leftovers: How do couples store leftover cake, and how long does it last?

A: Once cut and placed in a Tupperware, it lasts only a few days. If you have a whole tier remain uncut, it will last 4-5 days. Cake also freezes really well for up to 3 months.

Q: Smaller Desserts: Is the move toward dessert tables a passing trend?

A: It’s a great option for couples who want choice, but I work with many top venues where couples still want to invest in an eye-catching centrepiece for their day.

Expert Advice

Q: If you were planning your own wedding tomorrow, what would your cake look like?

A: Not like the one I had in 2009—that was all chocolate with maroon flowers! Mine would be an all-white tall fondant cake with lots of structural iced elements. I would go all-out!

Q: What is your one piece of advice for couples?

A: Choose your wedding cake designer carefully. Look at reviews, check with their previous venues, and get a feel for their style and professionalism. It really is a working relationship, and a good one pays dividends!

Wedding Wardrobe Wars: Can I Ban My Mother-in-Law From Wearing Blue?

Q: WILL I BE A BRIDEZILLA IF I TELL MY FUTURE MIL SHE HAS TO TAKE HER BLUE DRESS BACK?

I am so upset. I had this beautiful plan for my mum to be my "Something Blue," so she has bought a gorgeous blue dress to surprise everyone. Now, my husband to be says his Mum has announced she is also wearing blue! Apparently it is the only colour that suits her, she won't change it, and she says I need to "get over myself" because I can’t ban a colour. It has totally spoiled my vision for my mum’s special role.

Am I being a bridezilla if I tell her she has to return it?

A: GENTLY, KINDLY... TAKE A DEEP BREATH. WE CAN FIX THIS WITHOUT A FAMILY FEUD.

I completely understand why you feel deflated. When you have a "clear vision" for your wedding—especially one that involves a sentimental nod to your mum—it feels like a personal slight when someone else seemingly tramples over it. You want your mum to feel unique in her role, and right now, it feels like that "Something Blue" moment is being diluted.

But before you send that "take it back" text, let’s look at the wedding industry’s best-kept secret for peace: The Husband-to-Be Buffer.

1. LET YOUR FIANCÉ TAKE THE LEAD on this one

This is the golden rule of wedding planning: You manage your parents; he manages his.

  • The Strategy: Your husband-to-be knows his mum better than anyone. He knows how to coax her, which "buttons" to push, and how to explain—without it sounding like a demand from you—that your mum has a very specific symbolic role tied to that colour.

  • The Conversation: If he approaches her saying, "Mum, I want you to look amazing, but the blue is actually part of a surprise tribute for [Bride's] mum," it lands much differently than if it comes from the bride.

2. THE "SOMETHING BLUE" TRUTH

Here is the comforting reality: even if they both show up in blue, your mum is still your "Something Blue."

  • The Sentiment: That title isn't about the fabric; it is about the intention and the person.

  • The Photos: Your photographer (who, as we know, loves a relaxed vibe!) will capture the connection between you and your mum. Your guests will see your mum’s role through the flowers, the speeches, and the way you interact. A Mother-in-Law in a similar shade won't take that away from you.

3. BRIDEZILLA SCORE: LET’S BE HONEST 👀

  • Demanding she returns the dress herself:8/10 🚩 (This is a one-way ticket to a lifelong grudge with your new in-laws!)

  • Feeling upset and venting to your friends:2/10 (Totally human! You’re allowed to be annoyed when a vision is disrupted.)

  • Letting your husband handle his mum while you stay "Team Chilled":0/10 — Iconic behaviour.

4. WHY ROOM TO BREATHE MATTERS

Just like we talk about letting a ceremony breathe by using a celebrant, your relationships need room to breathe too.

  • The Big Picture: Years from now, you won't look at your album and think, "I wish there was less blue." You will look at it and remember the joy.

  • Supplier Insight: Ask your photographer! They are experts at posing groups so that your mum is front and centre next to you, ensuring her "Something Blue" status is perfectly captured, regardless of what anyone else is wearing.

THE BOTTOM LINE

You can’t "ban" a colour without looking a bit like a Bridezilla, but you can ask for a compromise through the right channels. Let your fiancé deal with the diplomacy. If she still wears blue? Let it go. Your mum knows she is your "Something Blue," you know she is, and that is what makes the tradition special.

Focus on your 12 pm garden ceremony and that relaxed celebrant-led vibe—on the day, you’ll be so happy you won’t even notice the shade of her hemline!

Wedding Worries Katie Flanagan Wedding Worries Katie Flanagan

My parents are insisting we book the registrar, but we want a celebrant!

Q: MY PARENTS ARE INSISTING ON A REGISTRAR BECAUSE THEY WANT TO SEE US "SIGN THE REGISTER."

I feel so torn. We really want the personal touch of a celebrant-led ceremony, we don’t want the same generic ceremony as everyone else. However, my parents are very traditional. They feel that if we don't have a registrar, it isn't "real," and they specifically want to see us signing the big register and getting our handwritten certificate. Is there a way to help them understand?

A: THIS IS SUCH A COMMON CONVERSATION, AND I HAVE SOME NEWS THAT MIGHT SURPRISE THEM!

It is lovely that your parents value the tradition of your wedding day. However, there is a "best-kept secret" in the industry: the romantic scene they are picturing, the fountain pen, the hand-written certificate, and the heavy leather-bound book that they remember, no longer exists in England and Wales.

THE TRUTH ABOUT THE "MISSING" REGISTER

In May 2021, during covid, the marriage register moved online. This means that even if you have a registrar at your venue, they do not bring a register with them.

  • The Marriage Schedule: Instead of a book, you sign a piece of paper called a "Marriage Schedule."

  • No Certificates on the Day: Registrars no longer issue hand-written certificates at the wedding. The registrar has 7 days to go to their office and upload the details to the national records. You then have to order your certificate online or by phone about a week later.

  • The "Production Line" Feeling: Registrars are often on a very tight schedule, moving from one wedding to the next. Everyone in the room can feel that time pressure, which is the opposite of the "room to breathe" feeling you want for your big day.

THE "2+2" COMPROMISE: THE PERFECT SOLUTION

If your parents really need to see you "signing the papers" to feel it is official, here is the secret: Do the 2+2 and take them to be your witnesses.

  • What is it? You book a simple statutory appointment at the register office for £62 (plus certificate fees).

  • Involve Your Parents: Take your parents as your two witnesses. It takes about three minutes and is very low-key, you’re registering your marriage, it’s very similar to how you register a baby’s birth..

  • The Outcome: Once they see how administrative and "un-ceremonial" the legal paperwork actually is, they usually realise why you want the real celebration to be the beautiful, personal one led by your celebrant.

THE BOTTOM LINE

Take your parents to witness the legal "admin", you satisfy their need for tradition (albeit a different kind to what they remember) without compromising your wedding day.

When you explain that the process has gone online, most parents quickly realise that the meaning of the day comes from the words you say to each other, not the process the government requires!

Newly Engaged? | Your Ultimate Wedding Planning Guide

You have done it. You said yes. You are officially engaged! 💍

You’ve admired the ring from every possible angle, cried happy tears, told your mum, and proposed to your bride squad. But once the initial champagne bubbles settle, a sudden realisation usually hits: you actually have to plan a wedding. Eek!

Your Google search history is suddenly a chaotic mix of wedding checklists 2026, average wedding cost UK, and the eternal question of whether you can politely ask for cash instead of a toaster. Pinterest and Instagram are brilliant at selling the dream, but they are not always great at telling you where to start.

Take a deep breath. Whether you are dreaming of a grand stately home or a quiet forest elopement, you are in safe hands here. Here at Celebrant Led we know all the industry secrets, the hidden costs, the logistical hurdles, and we’re sharing them all with you.

Here are the essential first steps to take you from "Newly Engaged" to "Just Married."

The Unsexy Part | Setting Your Wedding Budget

This is the foundation of everything else. You need to sit down with your partner and have the money talk. Do this when you are both well fed and relaxed, preferably on neutral ground where there is no third party interference.

The biggest cause of wedding stress is a mismatch in expectations. One of you might be envisioning a DIY village hall bash while the other is dreaming of a seven course tasting menu for 200 guests. Be honest about what you can save, what family might be contributing, and what you are comfortable spending. Once that number is set, try your best to stick to it.

The GUESSTIMATE | Know Your Wedding Numbers

You cannot book a venue without a rough headcount. Write a draft list immediately. Knowing your numbers prevents the heartbreak of falling in love with a venue that is simply too small, or blowing your entire budget on a room that will feel empty.

  • The A-List: Your must haves (Parents, siblings, best friends).

  • The B-List: Close friends and extended family.

  • The Evening List: Colleagues and wider social circles.

Define Your Vibe

When you imagine your wedding, what does it feel like?

Formal stately home, industrial and quirky, garden party, boho festival tipi, rustic barn, luxury hotel?

Don’t worry about what is trending and what your friends are doing.

Think about what fits your personalities, your guest list and your budget.

Setting the Date

Think about the season, the colours and the light. Do you want the blue bells and snowdrops of Spring, the cherry blossom of early Summer, or the rich, russet tones of Autumn, or the Winter evergreens and berries?

If you are looking for a bargain, off peak days (Monday to Thursday) and off peak months (October to March) can save you thousands. Weekday weddings are becoming the new norm, with only 50% of UK weddings happening on a Saturday. If people love you, they will be there!

Main Character Energy | The Ceremony Vibe

Most couples spend 90% of their time planning the party and only 10% on the ceremony. However, the ceremony is the whole point. It sets the tone for the entire day.

Ask yourselves who should have the main character energy. Is it a religious scripture? Is it the official government process? Or is it You Two? A celebrant led wedding puts your love story front and centre. It is the ultimate way to reclaim your wedding day with intention and connection.

The "Safety Net" | Wedding Insurance

It is cheap to cover your big day and it is essential. During my time as a wedding manager, I saw far too many broken limbs and hen party mishaps. One bride even had to hobble down the aisle after tripping over a toy dinosaur!

Beyond personal accidents, insurance protects you if a venue or supplier goes into administration. In today’s economic climate, it is a small price to pay for peace of mind.

We want to get married at 12pm, but the Registrar is only available at 3pm, what can we do?

Helping to solve your wedding worries!

Q: THE REGISTRAR ONLY HAS A 3 PM SLOT, BUT MY HEART IS SET ON 12 PM! WHAT DO I DO?

I am so frustrated. I have been dreaming of a midday ceremony so we can spend the whole afternoon celebrating in the sun, but the registrar is fully booked and can only offer me 3 pm. I feel like I am losing three hours of my wedding day before it has even started. Do I just have to accept it and change my whole timeline?

A: ABSOLUTELY NOT!

YOU CAN HAVE YOUR 12 PM DREAM.

I totally feel your frustration. Planning a wedding is a huge balancing act, and when a third party diary clash threatens your vision, it is incredibly stressful. But I am about to let you in on the wedding industry’s best-kept secret. The registrar’s schedule does not have to be your schedule.

If you want to get married at 12 pm, you can. The answer is to book a celebrant.

1. TAKE BACK YOUR TIME AND YOUR DAY

When you book a registrar, you are often just a slot in a very busy day of travelling between venues. They are on a strict clock, and everyone in the room feels that pressure. With a celebrant, you are the priority.

  • The 12 pm Flow: You get those extra three hours back. That means a long, lazy afternoon sipping drinks under the blossom trees, rather than rushing to squeeze your photos in before the sun goes down.

  • Space to Breathe: Your wedding won’t feel like a production line. You and your guests can actually relax and enjoy the moment. You can even be fashionably late without fear!

2. DITCH THE "LICENSED BOX"

Registrars are usually restricted to specific, licensed ceremony rooms, or a very specific outdoor ceremony space.

  • Go Outside: With a celebrant, the world is your oyster. If you want to say your vows in that gorgeous spot on the lawn under the trees, you can.

  • Your Music, Your Way: You get total freedom for your content. If you want a song that mentions God or has a religious word, such as Ruelle’s "I Get to Love You" or Alex Warren’s "Ordinary", you can have it. No one is going to tell you no to your favourite lyrics.

3. THE "2+2" HACK (IT IS SO EASY)

You might be wondering how to make it legal. It is actually super chill. You just do the paperwork separately at the register office, often called a 2+2. Usually held on an off peak day and time e.g. Tuesday 11am

  • The Vibe: It takes about three minutes. It is just you, two witnesses, and a signature. It is as low-key as signing a birth certificate.

  • The Simple Way: You do not even need to do rings or vows there. Save all the emotional, real stuff for your 12 pm ceremony with your friends and family.

  • The Cost: It has recently gone up to £62 plus the individual certificate fees, so it is very budget-friendly.

4. YOUR SUPPLIERS WILL LOVE YOU FOR IT

Here is the truth: I have never met a wedding team, photographer, content creator, videographer or musician who prefers a registrar over a celebrant. Your suppliers love the freedom of a celebrant-led day bring, just as much as you will.

  • Photographer Freedom: Photographers are used to tiptoeing around the registrar, they cannot stand in certain spots, and everyone has seen TikToks of the photographers getting told off (mid ceremony) for noisy shutter clicks. Celebrants welcome and work with your photographer to capture the magic from the best angles.

  • A Relaxed Relationship: Because your celebrant is not a stranger who just turned up five minutes ago and gave you a mini-interview grilling, the whole energy is different. You will be relaxed and laughing, which means you won't look stiff and awkward in your photos. You will look like you. Happy, chilled, and totally in love.

THE BOTTOM LINE

A celebrants fee usually works out to be around the same, or only slightly more than the fee a registrar charges to officiate a wedding at a venue. However, the freedom it buys you is priceless. Don't let a registrar’s diary dictate when you say "I do." Book a celebrant, grab that 12 pm slot, and own your wedding day!

I want my bridesmaid to dye her hair, ‘Am I Being a Bridezilla?’

Am I Being a Bridezilla?

I’m a bride to be and I’m paying for my bridesmaids dresses, hair up and MUA, and I had a clear vision that they would all look the same.

All of my bridesmaids have naturally dark hair except one, who has had very vibrant red hair (think Diane from Strictly!) for the last year. It really suits her, but it clashes with the dress colour I want them to wear and she stands out a lot in photos. I’m blonde and, if I’m being honest, I do want to stand out on the day.

I’m considering asking her to dye her hair back to her natural colour for the wedding… but I’m worried this might make me look like a bridezilla.

A: Short answer? yes, You’re in the Bridezilla zone!

We get it, it’s completely normal to want a uniform look for your wedding, so you’re not unusual for caring about how your photos look or how everything comes together visually. That is part of the fun of planning. But asking someone to change their hair colour, especially a bold, long term colour that is part of how they express themselves, crosses over from wedding styling into personal identity.

Why asking a bridesmaid to change her hair is tricky

Hair colour isn’t like a dress you can zip on and take off. It isn’t even like makeup that washes away at the end of the night. It is:

  • Part of how someone shows up in the world

  • Something they have likely invested time, money and confidence into

  • A look they have chosen for themselves, not for an event

So even if your intention is purely about your wedding aesthetic, it can land as: “Can you change who you are for my photos?”

The only possible exception: If you offered to fully pay for a professional colour change and the cost of returning it to red immediately afterwards, you could open the conversation. But she must feel 100 percent safe to say no. No awkwardness. No fallout. No sulking.

Your bridal party was never going to match anyway

This is the bit that often gets lost in Pinterest perfect planning. Even if everyone had the same hair colour, your bridesmaids are not identical clones. They already have different heights, body shapes, skin tones and ways of carrying themselves.

What to do instead (that actually works in photos)

If your concern is the visual flow, you have much better options for a rebel luxe vibe:

Choose a dress colour that complements a range of hair tones.

Use a consistent hairstyle such as all sleek buns or all beachy waves rather than identical hair colours.

Tie it together with accessories like matching bouquets or textures.

Lean into the individuality vibe. Modern weddings look better when people feel comfortable and look like themselves.

But I want to stand out as the bride…

You will. Not because of your hair colour, and not because your bridesmaids blend into the background. You’ll stand out because you are the one walking down the aisle and the centre of every emotional moment.

Bridezilla Score: Let’s be honest here 👀

  • Asking her to dye it without considering her feelings: 8/10 🚩

  • Thinking about it but choosing not to ask: 2/10 (You’re human!)

  • Leaning into her individuality: 0/10 — Iconic behaviour.

The Bottom Line

If she is important enough to be in your bridal party, she is important enough to show up exactly as she is. Years from now, you won’t care if the shades matched perfectly. You will care that your favourite people were there, comfortable and completely themselves.

That is what makes a wedding feel as good as it looks.

Golden Hour and a Surprise Third Ring: Chloe & Anthony’s Family-Focused Lakeside Wedding 🥂

Photographer: Georgie Beck

The Coniston Hotel Estate & Spa | Yorkshire Dales

There is something truly sacred about returning to the place where it all began. For Chloe and Anthony, the Yorkshire Dales isn't just a backdrop; it’s the setting of their life together. Ten years after their first meeting, they headed back to the water’s edge to finally say "I do."

They did things their way, and honestly, those are always my favourite days! After a 3 PM legal ceremony at the registry office. (Chloe wore a yellow dress), we had all the freedom in the world to create a 6 PM twilight ceremony that was 100% “them”.

The Ceremony: Golden Hour & Happy Tears

As the golden hour sun blazed at The Coniston Hotel, the energy shifted. This wasn't a "sit still and be quiet" kind of ceremony; it was an immersive experience. We shared their ten-year love story, the highs, the laughs, and the journey that led them to this very moment.

Three Rings, Not Two 💍

Family vows and a surprise third ring completed Team Barstow 💕

Photographer: Georgie Beck

The most beautiful part of the ceremony? Involving their daughter. Marriage isn’t just about two people; it’s about the family they’ve built. After Chloe and Anthony exchanged their vows, we had a surprise third ring for their little girl. There wasn't a dry eye! It was a beautiful, age-appropriate way to say, "We are a team, forever."

The air was filled with a mix of happy tears and genuine delight, before the couple headed off for fizz, dinner, and a dance floor that didn't quit!

The Dream Team Squad

A huge shoutout to the wedding professionals who made this outdoor Dales dream a reality:

As the Editor of Celebrant Led, I get to see gorgeous weddings cross my desk every day. But Chloe and Anthony’s lakeside day holds an incredibly special place in my heart—because I also had the absolute privilege of being their wedding celebrant!
A massive thank you to the newlyweds and their incredible creative team for allowing us to feature this magic.
