Wedding Celebrant for the Ribble Valley, Yorkshire Dales & South Lakes
“Katie ❤️ you were incredible!
The amount of people that come up to me saying it was the best ceremony they have ever been to. Xxx”
As a former Wedding Manager at a Country Estate Venue, I watched too many couples hand over control of their ceremony to the Registration Service or the Church, resulting in a fixed ceremony time and a massive list of rules about the ‘allowed content’.
With me, nothing is off limits. You are in the driving seat, you choose the ceremony time, 11am, 1pm, 9pm, anytime!
You choose whether to say your vows aloud, exchange them virtually, in private, or I’ll read them for you.
Hand-fasting, your dog as ring bearer, hymns - if it means something to you, it belongs in your ceremony.
I'm an independent wedding celebrant covering the Ribble Valley, Skipton, Settle, Ilkley, Keighley, Harrogate, Wennington and Gisburn — based right in the Yorkshire Dales, on the Lancashire and Cumbria borders.
Formerly the Wedding Manager and in-house celebrant at a busy Yorkshire Dales venue, I bring an operational eye that never switches off — like timing your kiss so your photographer's in place and ready, then getting out of shot myself. But planning isn't my job any more.
I'm not a stranger on your wedding and you'll know every word of your ceremony in advance. No surprises, way less nerves and no wedding nightmares for you!

“Katie was absolutely amazing and such a wonderful part of our day. All our guests commented on how personal the ceremony was, and how she captured our love story so beautifully. Not have a registrar led ceremony made us feel SO much more at ease on the morning of the wedding, and having met Katie before the big day we felt so at ease around her which relieved so much of the big day nerves. If you want a personal ceremony that will make your guests laugh, cry and “aww” then make sure you book Katie!”

“Katie did our ceremony for the wedding and it was perfect. So personal to us which we really valued and she was able to include our fur baby Ernie in the ceremony which made our day. We got so many compliments from our guests on the ceremony and Katie was there every step of the way to ask questions when we needed. Would definitely recommend Katie for your wedding x”

“We chose Katie to be our celebrant for our wedding at Falcon Manor, Settle, in May 2026. From the moment we met Katie she was a friendly and approachable, with years of experience in the weddding industry, which is invaluable when thinking of all the little details. We wanted a celebrant who could help share the story of our relationship with our guests and Katie perfectly delivered a beautiful speech that she crafted after spending time with us as a couple (and a family - as we have small children), so it was personal and heartfelt, touching on all the aspects of our relationship, family and friends that we hold dear. We would highly recommend Katie to any couple wanting to take an alternative approach on their wedding day.”

A: A registrar performs the legal ceremony under very strict rules on timing, content and location. You cant choose your registrar, so it will be a stranger on the day.
A celebrant-led ceremony is the opposite, you choose your celebrant, it’s the personal, flexible part of your day — written entirely around you, wherever and whenever you want, with no script restrictions. Couples experience way less nerves when they know there are no surprises in the ceremony and the celebrant already feels like a friend!
It’s increasingly more popular for couples to have a 2 part wedding, 1 in 5 couples and fast rising, now complete the legal bit quietly in a £62 5 minute long statutory paperwork ceremony at the register office. They save rings and vows for their celebrant led wedding day.

A: I have a wedding superpower! I’m the former wedding manager and in-house celebrant at a very busy country estate, so I view everything with a pair of ‘ops eyes’.
I’ve seen hundreds of weddings, some good and some terrible ones (where friends or family officiated and self medicated their nerves with alcohol!)
But seeing how couples were short changed by a stranger delivering a template ceremony is the reason I trained as a celebrant!
You either become part of the problem or you do something to fix it — so I became a full time celebrant and create the kind of weddings that couples like you deserve.

A: Absolutely, they can walk you down the aisle, be the ring bearer, guest of honour, or trained to "bark their approval" on cue.
If they mean something to you, they belong in your day and they always get a treat from me (I check with you first!).

A: You don’t have to do anything that you don’t want to do. There’s so many alternatives - exchange books containing your written vows to read later, exchange them verbally in private, or have me read them aloud for you — whichever feels right. You don’t have to walk down the aisle either, if the thought of this paralyses you with fear, start at the front and let guests enter the ceremony.
By choosing a celebrant who feels like your friend and makes you feel confident, and knowing there are no surprises in the ceremony or strangers arriving to officiate - on the day you will be way less nervous and enjoy your wedding day much more than you think you will, I see it all the time!

A: Honestly? I’ve worked with wedding planning couples for a long time and because I know you have so much to do and so many suppliers to chase, I purposely make it really easy to work with me.
My pricing is transparent, I’m fast to reply to enquiries and I’m always happy to have a no obligation video call to what about your wedding day and to see if I pass the all important vibe check.
If you decide to book me a your celebrant - I I like to meet in person (or on video call if time is precious) when we can and I want to know all about you and your relationship, the fun, the romance, the annoying bits. I also have indepth couples and ceremony questionnaires for you to complete so we don’t miss any ceremony gold! Using these I then take time to write a full draft of your ceremony (with all the prompts) and send it over to you, to see how it sounds and feels from your PoV. (One,or both of you will usually cry at this stage!) 🥹❤️

A: Yes, you can have anything! There are no content restrictions on a celebrant-led ceremony — you can mix content with - fun, hymns, spiritual elements, cultural elements, old traditions such as hand-fasting, pets, surprise elements, even guest participation.
-
A: As soon as you've decided upon your venue and date — if you don’t book your favourite wedding suppliers, somebody else will! I have turned down 27th March 2027 three times during 2026!
