Katie Flanagan | Wedding Celebrant
Ribble Valley, Yorkshire & South Lakes
If you want your guests to say it was the best wedding they have ever been to, banish your pre-wedding nerves, and get the absolute best out of your day…you need Katie as your wedding celebrant!
Wedding Celebrant in the Ribble Valley, Yorkshire Dales & South Lakes
Planning a wedding across the Ribble Valley, Skipton, Settle, Ilkley, Keighley, Wennington or Gisburn and want a ceremony that's actually, properly yours? I'm Katie Flanagan, an independent professional celebrant and formerly the Wedding Manager and in‑house celebrant at a busy Yorkshire Dales wedding venue.
I've planned, coordinated and officiated hundreds of weddings, so however big your vision (or however wonderfully small), you're in genuinely safe hands.
I live in the Yorkshire Dales, right on the Lancashire and Cumbria borders, which means I know this patch of England properly, not just as a name on a map. So whether it’s a licensed or unlicensed wedding venue, a barn, a mill, a riverside field, marquee, your family farm or the back garden — if it means something to you, I can marry you there.
Why a Celebrant‑Led Ceremony Solves the Problems Couples Worry About Most
Most couples come to me carrying one of three worries. Here's how a celebrant‑led ceremony deals with each of them.
"I'm terrified of walking down the aisle and going to pieces"
Nerves are completely normal, but with a celebrant led ceremony we get to know each other beforehand, so nerves diminish when you know you’re walking down the aisle to your partner and a supportive celebrant who feels like a friend! If you'd rather I read your vows aloud so you don't have to, that's fine. If you want to exchange vows privately, that's fine too. My job is to make sure the only thing you're feeling on the day is excited.
“We can’t have what we really want! We keep hitting rigid rules about what we can and can't say"
A registrar‑led ceremony comes with restrictions — set locations, set timings, and content rules that rule out your ceremony music, readings or religious references. A celebrant‑led ceremony removes all of that. Your ceremony can happen exactly where and when you want, you choose the start time, and we include the words, music and readings that actually mean something to you — including songs that mention god or other religious words.
"We don't want something that sounds like every other wedding we've been to"
No off‑the‑shelf scripts, ever. Every ceremony I write is built from a blank page and is around your relationship — how you met, your in‑jokes, your families, the bits only you two would think to include. You might want a hand‑fasting, family vows to include your children, a nod to a late family member, or your dog as ring bearer? Anything goes — it’s your wedding day!

“⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
Katie did our ceremony for the wedding and it was perfect. So personal to us which we really valued and she was able to include our fur baby Ernie in the ceremony which made our day. We got so many compliments from our guests on the ceremony and Katie was there every step of the way to ask questions when we needed. Would definitely recommend Katie for your wedding x”

Katie was absolutely amazing and such a wonderful part of our day. All our guests commented on how personal the ceremony was, and how she captured our love story so beautifully. Not have a registrar led ceremony made us feel SO much more at ease on the morning of the wedding, and having met Katie before the big day we felt so at ease around her which relieved so much of the big day nerves. If you want a personal ceremony that will make your guests laugh, cry and “aww” then make sure you book Katie!”

We chose Katie to be our celebrant for our wedding at Falcon Manor, Settle, in May 2026. From the moment we met Katie she was a friendly and approachable, with years of experience in the weddding industry, which is invaluable when thinking of all the little details. We wanted a celebrant who could help share the story of our relationship with our guests and Katie perfectly delivered a beautiful speech that she crafted after spending time with us as a couple (and a family - as we have small children), so it was personal and heartfelt, touching on all the aspects of our relationship, family and friends that we hold dear. We would highly recommend Katie to any couple wanting to take an alternative approach on their wedding day.”
